When it comes to spreading the word across the world about the quality of our products, we’re delighted to say our team are experts.
Last month our MD Paul Collins and sales executive Sanjay Patel visited the Middle East Electricity Exhibition in Dubai. We’ve been attending this event for more than 20 years. It’s an exciting way of showcasing what we do to best in this crucial market.
It gives us a brilliant opportunity to meet our customers, as we are usually so far away! This has to be one of the best aspects of taking part in this major exhibition. But it’s also fair to say this gives us a good chance to meetings with existing customers and exhibitors – over the years, many have become firm business partner’s.
Of course, it’s also an opportunity to display our latest products. This time we were exhibiting our DIN rail mounting power meters. This is a new type of meter for this already established market – but we were very pleased to see a high level of interest shown.
The new meter is suitable to us on single phase or three phase with seven selectable colour backlight LCD display. It is easy to programme the CT and VT ratio from the front of the meter using the buttons.
The meter comes with RS485 and relay output, the relay output can be used as either pulse output or as protection relay. To set the relay as a protection device, RS485 connection will be required. The relay can be assigned to 8 parameters at any given time.
The new range is a cost-effective replacement for traditional panel meters and protection relay. They are suitable for low, medium and high voltage control panels, gensets, building management systems, power management and more.
You can read all about our new range here:
We attend this exhibition to boost the understanding of our full range of products including multifunction meters, protection relay, transducers and DC Shunt, as most of the customers in this region know Hobut as manufacturer of current transformer and panel meter only.
With 50% of the Hobut business being export, of which majority of the sales coming from the Middle East region, it is important to be able to show what else we can offer as basket of products.
Middle East customers have a great trust for UK products, and with low currency exchange rate, UK products are now more favourable, so more customers are looking to UK for supply of products for their needs.
Middle East customers pride in using the best available products in the market, but know the market has changed so much that quality is not all they look for, price and delivery time is up most important to them. This makes it more difficult for UK manufacturing companies with stiff competition coming from far east.
We’re always excited to visit some major trade and industry shows across the globe and are proud to have been welcomed so well at the Middle East Electricity Exhibition.
